Job Description

Senior Event Liability Production Underwriter Location: Remote – United States

About Our Client

Our client is a specialty insurance company that has been at the forefront of event insurance since 2017. What started as a mission to make event coverage more accessible has grown into a fully integrated, technology-driven platform offering solutions across special events, facility user programs, event cancellation, prize indemnity, and more — with over 500 activity types and a flexible pricing model that sets them apart from traditional carriers.

With a strong and established presence in their home market, they are now expanding into the United States and are looking for a senior underwriter to help build and grow their US book of business.

The Role

This is a production-focused underwriting role — meaning you'll be doing both. You'll evaluate complex event liability risks while actively developing the broker relationships that drive new business. As the primary point of contact for US-based retail brokers, you'll underwrite a diverse range of events including concerts, festivals, sporting events, conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and more.

If you're a technically strong underwriter who also knows how to work a room and build a pipeline, this one's worth a conversation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Underwriting event liability submissions — reviewing applications, contracts, safety plans, and loss history to assess risk, set terms, and determine pricing
  • Prospecting and developing new broker relationships across the US to grow submission flow and drive gross written premium
  • Managing a renewal book with a focus on retention, profitability, and service quality
  • Negotiating General Liability policy terms, conditions, and coverage limits across a wide range of event types
  • Traveling as needed to meet with brokers, attend industry events, and build the company's profile in the US market
  • Identifying and mitigating liability exposures through careful analysis of event contracts and financial documents
  • Operating within delegated underwriting authority and maintaining compliance with applicable US regulatory requirements

What You Bring

  • 5–8 years of commercial lines underwriting experience, with direct exposure to special events, sports, leisure, or entertainment risks
  • Solid knowledge of General Liability coverage wordings and US insurance market practices
  • A genuine track record in production — you know how to develop broker partnerships and convert submissions into bound business
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; comfortable representing a brand in front of brokers and at industry events
  • The ability to manage a high volume of varied submissions accurately and efficiently
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant insurance experience
  • CPCU, AU, or similar designations are a plus

How Success Is Measured

  • Gross Written Premium growth against annual production targets
  • Loss ratio performance across your US book
  • Broker development — growth in submission volume and hit ratios within your assigned territory

Why This Opportunity

This is a ground-floor opportunity with a company that has already proven its model and is now bringing it to the US market. You'll have the backing of an innovative, tech-forward organization and the autonomy to build broker relationships your way — without the layers of a large carrier slowing you down.
